I am very excited to say that by the end of May I will have my first prototype complete!  I’ll be sure to upload some photos =]

Apartment living

Do you live in an apartment? What’s your ideal room setup when it comes to furniture? What’s your biggest annoyance?

Concept #7  Floor lamp to accompany the living sofa.  Each hemisphere houses a bulb to give you multi-directional lighting.  Solid and void are ancient tools of design yet I think the collision and order of these spheres creates a satisfying dynamism.

Concept #6  Modern bedroom set.  The headboard acts as a room divider and provides storage on either side.  Part desk, part bed; studio living at its best!

Concept #5 A desk to accompany the office sofa. Plank hardwood encased by an angular steel frame.

Concept Number 4.  Modern Bar Stool.  This design uses a single line as the frame and arm rest.  There is one diagonal leg to break the repetition and add balance to the design.

Concept #3.  Contemporary living room sofa.  The seat sits on 3 metal hemispheres.  The back is framed by uniform wood rails that curve up and around the sides to create a shelf.  Its nearly monochrome while maintaining the integrity of the materials.

Concept #2! Here is a sofa idea I’ve been toying with.  It is part of a collection of office furniture.  Materials are leather and a an unspecified brushed metal for the frame.

Concept Number 1

This is the first piece I designed.  The “plank chair” is a formal chair, both fluid and rigid.  It is made from a single piece of wood that is molded and shaped.  Simple and elegant.

Hello everyone! I want to apologize for being away for such a long while.  I sort of became a recluse, a loaner and a lame ass person but now I’m back!  My time away was not wasted though as I’ve been designing lots and lots of furniture. Modern, practical, (awesome) furniture.  Every piece, every chair, table, lamp, sofa is in the conceptual phase right now but my goal is to find a manufacturer and start getting some of these pieces built and into stores. Like manhattan boutiques =] not like walmart -__- womp womp.   I want to post one design each day and hopefully get some feedback and maybe even generate some buzz! Critiques, criticism, comments, anything else that starts with a C or general thoughts are welcome!

Hi, I was wondering for your original #3 tower, what program did you use to get those strips to change direction from horizontal to vertical? I'm trying to create a louver system that does something similar continuously from east to west. THANKS!

Are you familiar with rhino? Well there is an add on you can download (free) called grasshopper. http://www.grasshopper3d.com/
I definitely suggest going through the tutorials because its not the easiest program to use but its great for generative design.
